Lone Mountain Ranch
Big Sky
We have been welcoming guests to our home in the mountains for close to thirty years.
The first thing you sense when you arrive at the Ranch is the warm and genuine informal hospitality...the kind of hospitality found in few places these days. You may, like so many of our guests, return year after year because we will take care of you like family from the moment you arrive.

| Lodging: | Unique is one word that might best describe the guest cabins. Whether the cabins were built 70 years ago or in the last decade, all are attractive, well-maintained and comfortable and include daily housekeeping service. The lodgepole pine furnishings, patchwork quilts and western accessories reflect the historical atmosphere of the Ranch, built in 1926. Each cabin has a private bath, wood burning stove or fireplace and electric heat. The smaller cabins have one bedroom/living area and bath. The larger cabins have a separate living room and 2-3 bedrooms. See the complete cabin descriptions here. We will try our best to match you up with a cabin that is just right for you. The best way to assure that we can meet your needs is to reserve early! After you stay with us, you always have the option to reserve the same cabin for the same time the following year. Many of our guests make reservations for the next year before they leave. Some guests have returned for generations! Lone Mountain Ranch is proud to offer you a smoke free environment! |
| Kids' Program: | Lone Mountain Guest Ranch is a very special place for family vacations with children. Our Youth Adventures program operates from mid-June until Labor Day for children ages 4-18. The objective of our Youth Program is for young people to have fun while learning to appreciate nature and develop more self- confidence through planned activities and a wide variety of recreation. Activities are geared to suit the abilities and interests of each age group. Our program lasts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. A day in the Youth Program may include canoeing, camping, pizza parties, pony rides for children under 6 years old (or under 44 inches tall), a climbing wall, ice cream socials, archery, animal tracking, leather crafts, face painting, horseback riding, hiking and lots of other fun activities. We also have a very popular teen program. A "teens only" backpacking overnight campout in the Spanish Peaks and van tour of Yellowstone Park are just a few of the activities in which teens participate. * Discovery Camp for 4 - 6 year olds * Adventure Camp for 7 - 12 year olds * Teen Program for 13 - 18 year olds |
| Food/Dining: | The Dining Lodge is a beautiful log building with a generously equipped modern kitchen, a log dining room with huge elk antler chandeliers and a massive stone fireplace. Our non-smoking Saloon overlooks a beautiful Aspen grove. The Ranch Dining Lodge is a wonderfully informal and comfortable non-smoking room. The food has received accolades from guests and has been enthusiastically reviewed in many national publications. Our dining experience is best described by our chef as a Northern Rockies adaptation of classical techniques. Menus may include venison, lamb, bison, salmon, Montana raised natural beef, tantalizing vegetarian selections, duck, pasta specials and fresh fish flown in daily. Special emphasis is made to use fresh, organic Montana products whenever feasible. Our guests often express surprise that the quality of our meals rivals that of fine dining in metropolitan areas. |
